Changing Your Dialup Number
Have you moved?
You may need to change your KCBXnet dial-up access telephone number...
KCBXnet has several dial up numbers for the various areas
in the SLO County and Nothern Santa Barbara County, it is important to
change the number your computer is dialing to avoid any possible long distance
telephone charges.
Follow the instructions below to make this change.
Here's a sample ordered list.
- Double click on the My Computer Icon to open.
- Double click on the Dial up Networking folder to open.
- Click once on the KCBXnet icon to high-light, right click (once) on
the KCBXnet icon,this will open a menu box, click once (left) on Properties to open.
- Change the dial up telephone number to the correct number for the area in which you
reside, and click OK.
- Don't Skip This Step! You should be back in the Dial Networking folder after
after completing step 4. Double click on the KCBXnet icon to open and establish a
connection to KCBXnet by clicking on the Connect button at the bottom of this window.
In order for your computer to "remember" the new dial up number,
a successful connection must be established.
After you have connected, you may close the connection and close up all the remaining open windows....That's It! Please refer to the listing below for the dial up numbers, if you are not sure
that you have selected the correct dial up number for your area, refer to the Local Calling section of the Customer Guide in the telephone book provided by your telephone company.
